Presenting London Midland Labs.

You’ve probably arrived on this website because you have some interest in London Midland, what we do and how we do it. Maybe you are a regular commuter, or you’ve used us for a weekend away with the family or friends.

Whatever your interaction with us, we want to ensure it’s as good as it can be; that’s exactly why we’ve created LM Labs. We spend a lot of time running our every day services to make sure you get where you need to be, but we also spend a lot of time thinking about how to make it better and push past the status quo.

Labs is a focal point for all of our work to make your journey with us as simple as possible.

What this means in practical terms is that we’re taking the feedback that you give us every day, we listen and turn it into specific technology-based projects aimed at improving your journey.

We’ve set up a physical hub at the Innovation Birmingham Campus, alongside many innovative technology businesses, to bring all of this work together. We think it’s a great setting to take inspiration from the best of other sectors and cutting edge technology and bring it into our own service.

This’ll also be the home to staff from London Midland who are solely focused on delivering innovative projects that have a tangible impact on your experience, as well as startup companies that sit perfectly alongside our core business; ultimately, we’ll be learning from each other, creating some really cool and useful products/services. You can read about our programme for startups on the Accelerator page, and our interesting new projects that benefit you will be profiled on our Experiments page.

What this all means in reality is still to come. We’ve got a lot of ideas and projects already in the works, which we’ll be sharing in the coming weeks. As with everything we do, we’re looking to be as transparent as possible and get as much feedback from our customers along the way as we can, so we can be sure what we’re doing is really of value – so we want to hear from you! You can get in touch with us on our Twitter account, or Email. But for now – take a look around, and watch this space.
